With fan speculation that Sigourney Weaver may be playing Mephisto in the upcoming show The Defenders, I thought it would be neat to revisit one of his first encounters with them, all the way back in Defenders #100...

Horimiya Volume 1 Cover

I stumbled about Horimiya due to a random comment on youtube (regarding Manga and themes in them that need an Anime adaption). It took only a few pages to have me fall in love with both the stories and the characters presented in it and even after 78 chapters I still love it and cannot wait for the next chapters.

One of the goals of this first arc has been to establish Knife as Batwoman's new archenemy, and so far that has been done incredibly well. The two women have been compared and contrasted in a variety of ways: through their personalities and actions, their character design, and, as shown in the opening pages of issue #2 and issue #3, through color schemes and panelling. It may help to refresh yourself on those pages from issue #2.

"The idea that would eventually evolve into "Caliban" began when I heard there was going to be a prequel to "Alien", which is one of my all-time favourite films. What I like best about it is the sheer level of imagination on display; it gets you thinking about all kinds of possibilities. When I finally saw "Prometheus" I realised they’d gone in a completely different direction to what I expected, and given that I had all these ideas kicking about from my idle musing, I thought- why not?"

Since we don't have enough posts about Keith Giffen and Alan Grant's L.E.G.I.O.N, I decided to post scans from one of my favorite issues:

http://ew.com/movies/2017/05/22/justice-league-zack-snyder-daughter-joss-whedon/

TLDR: Joss Whedon, obviously the person whose resume most matches the position, will be taking over from Zack Snyder as director of Justice League. Snyder feels the need to spend more time with family in the wake of the suicide of his 20-year-old daughter. DC Entertainment seems a bit nervous in its declaration that the remaining directing is "minimal," but it's probably true that the finished result will feel much more like Snyder than Whedon. (Snyder's wife Deborah, a producer on the project, is likewise taking time off.)

If Snyder were departing for other reasons, I'd be cracking cheap jokes at him and a filmmaking approach that I think could charitably be described as "controversial." As it is, I find my heart going out to him. His vision of what makes a good movie will never be mine, but I have no doubt whatsoever that he deeply loves making movies, and I respect the hell out of him for walking away from his magnum opus for the few things in life that are more important.
